The HRC Foundation creates a world where LGBTQ+ individuals can freely and fully participate in all aspects of society. The Foundation works to ensure that people of every race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, and belief system—whether they live in bustling cities or rural communities in the United States or around the world—are supported throughout their lives, from childhood to old age. Its vision is rooted in the belief that true equality means engaging with and shaping the systems that shape daily life, including education, workplaces, religious institutions, and more. The Foundation collaborates with a wide range of allies—community leaders, businesses, and institutions—to advance LGBTQ+ policy objectives. A variety of programs reflect the Foundation’s broad scope and expertise. Economic Empowerment programs equip LGBTQ+ young adults with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in often-biased economic systems. The Stakeholder Engagement program mobilizes corporate and institutional allies to influence public policy and counter anti-LBGTQ+ efforts at the state and federal levels. Welcoming Schools stands out as the only national bullying prevention program specifically focused on LGBTQ+ issues in elementary schools, offering resources through an intersectional lens. Meanwhile, the Workplace Equality initiative helps businesses develop and implement inclusive policies, aiming to foster fairness for LGBTQ+ workers in the U.S. and abroad.
